CEDAR DIALOGUE NOISE SUPPRESSOR OVERVIEW

Horacio Jones, a video production expert, has shared his experience with using the CEDAR DNS 2 Dialog Noise Suppressor in his new Video Production Studio located in Little Italy. He explained that the noise from the nearby train tracks and cantina affected the audio quality of his recordings, which is why he invested in the noise suppressor. Horacio demonstrated how he had the suppressor hooked up and how it could output two channels, one with noise reduction and one without.

Horacio also played a sample of audio with and without the noise reduction, highlighting how effective the suppressor was at getting rid of ambient noise. He praised the technology and said that it made a significant difference in the audio quality of their recordings, allowing them to shoot in places they previously wouldn’t have considered due to noise issues.

The Cedar DNS Dialog Noise Suppressor comes with a hefty price tag of $3,800, but Horacio believes that it is worth the investment. He also pointed out that the suppressor has mounting points in the back and bottom, making it easy to attach to equipment.

Overall, the Cedar DNS Dialog Noise Suppressor has opened up a new level of creativity and access to noisy locations for Horacio’s video production studio, and he highly recommends it to other professionals in the field.Horacio Jones, a video production expert, has shared his experience with using the Cedar DNS Dialog Noise Suppressor in his new video production studio located in Little Italy. Hi, everybody. Horacio Jones, and I’m back with another tech talk. This is my first tech talk here at our new studio in Little Italy. And today I want to talk to you about this little box. It’s a cedar DNS dialog noise suppressor. And the reason I got it is because at this location, we’re only one block away from the train tracks.

It’s right over there, over my shoulder. Well, there’s not a train right now. When the trains do come, you hear bells. And of course, the train noise. And we also have a cantina across the street that sometimes plays very loud music. So obviously that affects the audio quality, which is why I bought this little sucker. Well, we’re waiting for the train.

I’m going to explain to you how I have this hooked up. All right. So it has two inputs. Channel one is coming from the boom mark right here. And then it also has a channel to input and a digital in and out. On the other side is the power and I have one channel, channel one going to the camera and Channel two is going to the camera, except Channel one has a noise reduction on and Channel two does not.

So that’s one cool feature of this box is that you can choose to output two channels, one with noise reduction and one without. While we’re waiting for the trains to come by, let’s just take a moment to meditate and listen to the sounds around this train. I hear. Okay, I don’t know if you can see that the train stop, you can see the lights and the bells are going off.

So let’s just listen to that for a second. It’s going to start. Okay. Not too bad. So let’s listen to it. With the noise reduction on I’m going to playback the noise reduction on and then I’ll play back with the noise reduction off. So this is with the noise reduction on, it’s going to start and this is the noise reduction off.

It’s going to start. Okay, guys, here’s another train and just arriving. See, the frequency is crazy. It’s honking its horn, even though you’re not supposed to honk the horn in this area. Let me show you just how easy it is to use this. Really. It just has a learn button and an in and out button. So this turns it off as reduction off learning off turn noise reduction on here and then press the learn button and automatically learns the ambient noise around you and gets rid of it.

It’s really amazing technology. I’m so glad I got this. It really makes a difference in our recordings here at the studio. They sound super pro and it doesn’t really alter the sound that much. Unfortunately, Price tag’s a little hefty. I think it’s 3800. I think I got it used for like 32. It also has 48 volt fan of power.

You can switch it from mike level to line level on each channel. I assume you would have to get some kind of like detached 212 volt adapter for this. Keeping the audio back and it has mounting points in the back and the bottom so that’s cool. Overall, I definitely say it’s worth the investment and it really opens up a new level of creativity and access to places that maybe otherwise you wouldn’t have thought to shoot it in because it was just too noisy.

Hey, once again, this is Horacio Jones from CinemaViva. Thanks for joining us. I really enjoy coming back with another tech talk and we’ll be doing more of them from our new studio location here in Little Italy. Stay tuned.
