CV Tech Talks Episode 2 ATEM Rackmount Case Build

I’ll be honest, we had one of those gigs back in March where everything went south. It was cold, raining, and of course some of the gear wasn’t playing right with each other on location.

Reflecting upon that gig convinced me that I needed to streamline the setup process and the best way would be to put all the live-streaming gear in a rapidly deployable rack case. I filmed the whole process on the Blackmagics and my trusty iPhone 12. Now this isn’t a totally step by step tutorial but more of an overview. I’m sure you can figure most of this out for yourself. Anyway’s here’s the saga for you. It’s really long so feel free to skip ahead to the end for the payoff!

Virtual Video Testimonials

Virtual testimonials can create a huge impact on your company. The smiles, excitement, and enthusiasm from customers may help you to achieve the competitive edge that you want for your industry. Happy customers get to create virtual videos praising your products and services, helping to increase the reputation of your company.

Video testimonials are effective marketing tools that may help to increase exposure to your company. This also helps you to build a stronger emotional connection with your target audience.

Live Streaming

Live streaming videos enable companies to expand their reach, which helps to attract more customers as well as social media followers. This is a way for a company to differentiate itself from competitors.

The creation of live streaming videos can educate or entertain your target audience. Live streaming videos are a trendy marketing technique that you can utilize on so many social media platforms. By creating a selection of videos that are relevant to your company, you can garner interest from prospects and gain more exposure to your business.

Another key element that may benefit your company is live question and answer sessions. Live streaming allows you to establish a good interaction with your audience during these sessions. In a virtual setting, you have the opportunity to attach a face to your business through live streaming.

Vertical Videos

Vertical videos are another popular marketing trend that could be a huge benefit to your company. With vertical videos, cell phone users view their phones in a vertical video format. This idea prevents cell phone users from tilting their phones and prevents distractions.

CinemaViva Video Productions Wins 1st Place Audience Award in 48 Hour Film Project

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, August 14, 2015 – Production company CinemaViva and Directors Horacio Jones and Fabrice Murgia are proud to announce their short film produced for the 48 Hour Film Project San Diego. Wingin’ It is the story of a rebellious angel who must be coached on how to take souls.  The film won the first place Audience Award for screening group G.

The 48 Hour Film Project is a worldwide film competition where local teams have 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a 4-7 minute short film.  A little over 100 teams signed up to compete. To keep the process honest, contestants randomly pick a genre on Friday at 7pm.  They must also use a given prop, line, and character in their film.  Team Viva! worked on the script and pre-production until 3am Saturday morning.  Filming took most of Saturday from 9am until 9pm.  The team stayed up the rest of the night completing the editing process.  With the help of coffee and chinese takeout,  they managed to turn in the film by the 7pm deadline on Sunday.

For this year’s competition Horacio Jones brought back local actors David Wagner and Lisa Winans.  Last year, Lisa won the Best Actress award for the competition for her role in Desert Rose. Rosarito artist, Gretchen Smith, made a special trip up to San Diego to be a part of the contest. She proved invaluable as she bravely ventured to Walmart in the middle of the night to buy materials for creating the angel’s wings.  Director of Photography and Special Effects Supervisor, Joel Morillo, contributed his Canon 5D Mark III with the DJI Ronin gimbal and wireless follow-focus.

Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

Artistic Merit (e.g., Story, Creativity, Entertainment Value) (45%)

Technical Merit (30%)

Adherence to the Assignment (25%)

Attendees of each premiere screening will also be able to cast their vote for their favorite movie to win the Audience Award.

About the competition, Director Horacio Jones said, “Creating a fantasy genre film without time and budget was particularly challenging.  Fortunately with smart storytelling and creative costuming, the team was able to put together a funny and memorable film.”
